Yummy Street Food: Pork Noodle
I arrived in Bangkok late evening; this was the first stall that caught my attention, as I walked down an alley to check-in my hotel. This pork noodle stall looked promising – imagine a crowd of locals eating heartily at the stall.
I didn’t manage to savour the pork noodle that evening since the stall was closed (probably sold-out early due to its popularity) after I checked in the hotel . On the subsequent nights, by the time I returned, either I was full or the stall was closed.
The chance came eventually, on the night we went back to our hotel around 6pm. Ordering was simple, there were only 2 options: Pork Noodle Soup (THB 55) or Pork Soup with Rice (THB 58). We both ordered the Pork Noodle Soup, which was promptly served.
The soup was lightly subtle flavoured, most likely brewed with pork bones. The noodles were cooked to the prefect texture. The pork slices served were generous and awesome; they were fresh, tender, and had just the right thickness. Although I couldn’t tell what were the pork cuts served, but I presumed there were 2-3 different cuts which gave the bowl of Pork Noodle Soup a good blend of flavours and textures.
If you’re shopping around EmQuartier or The Emporium, and looking for some good cheap dinner, consider walking 5 mins to this calories-worthy and wallet-friendly food stall.
It’s kind of hard to pinpoint the location, thankfully the location was already added in Google Map. It was quite accurate when I attempted to confirm the location using street view option. I had embedded the map below for easy reference. It will take approximately 3-5 mins walk from Phrom Phong BTS to this stall.
