幸福豆雲豆花 | Blissful Fluffy Bean Curd Pudding

Admitting, it was a bad translation. There wasn’t any official English translation for the shop name, thus I simply created one. Haaa… Here’s the word for word translation: 幸福, Bliss / Happy; 豆, Bean; 雲, Cloud; 豆花, Bean curd.

I always have a soft spot for bean curd pudding and can’t resist any, with exception of yucky ones. Though, I’m still learning to appreciate savoury bean curb pudding, as I’m accustomed to sweet bean curb pudding.

I chanced upon this place while walking around WenZhou St., after I had an unsatisfied meal and hoped to eat some dessert or snack to fix it. I was initially attracted to their furnishing; there were a mixture of vintage and modern furnishing, yet it seemed to be an organised mess, with only tables and chairs. I thought it was a furniture shop but realized it was actually a bean curb pudding shop.

Though delighted but I had to overcome a bit of a challenge ordering bean curb pudding, there were different flavours (customized by toppings). Chinese menu was available but I just recovered from a bad headache earlier and wasn’t in a condition to depict the wordings. I asked for recommendation and peanut toppings was suggested as a safe option.

I supposed because black beans were used in the bean curb pudding, there was a distinctive taste of the beans but it was mild. The peanut toppings wasn’t the usual crunchy peanuts, but they were cooked for eons that it turned soft. The peanut toppings was ok with the bean curb pudding, but I will prefer to try out other flavours for my next visit.

P.S. Spend some time to walk around WenZhou St. as there’re some nice shops and cafe around.
